Rehabilitation in Society
Every child has the right to parental love and care. Keeping this in mind, the institution makes sincere efforts to give the children in adoption. The unfortunate couples who are deprived of the blessing of having a child in their lives come to the institution with a hope and inspiration to adopt one. This process is not that simple as it seems to be.
The children abandoned by the parents due to several reasons or even those who take birth in the ashram and unfortunately lose their parents should not be subjected to loneliness for all their lives. Thus the institution has chosen to give them in adoption. The Adoption procedure has its own set rules. Children from this institution have been given in adoption not only in India but also in foreign countries like Sweden, America, Canada, New Zealand Switzerland, Germany, Norway, Belgium, etc.
These children have happily merged in the society with the love and warmth they receive from their adoptive parents. Looking to a bright, happy and secure future of the children, the institution has given a large number of children in adoption in all these years. The institution has experienced that such children have fully bloomed in the family atmosphere and have even secured high positions after proper education. They even ensure to visit the institution off and on.
The entire adoption procedure is done through the CARA and online forms for adoption are filled on cara.nic.in All the Prospective Adoptive Parents have to register on this website. The Child Care Institute puts up a list of children available for adoption. The matching of the parents and the children is done by CARA through online matching system as per the waiting list. The children are given in adoption as per the order in the waiting list on the CARA website.
Rehabilitation in their own families
Efforts are made to find the family members of the missing children, found by the police and those brought by the police in round up, with the help of police, District Child Protection Unit and other related organizations. When found, the children are safely handed over after the permission from the Child Welfare Committee. To ensure speedy reunion of the children from other states with their families, they are even transferred to the institutions in the concerned district or state.
Apart from children, if adult women arrive for shelter in the institution due to family or social issues, their problems are given a patient hearing, family members are contacted, both the parties are made to sort out the issues and thus such women are rehabilitated in their families.
Rehabilitation through marriage
The girls who grow up in this institution and come to the marriageable age, the Trustees and the Staff of the institution take due care in finding the best possible match for them and get them married. Even the child widows residing in the institution are also remarried if they express their wish. Applications are invited from the prospective grooms. Every candidate who applies for marriage has to disclose all his minute details including his family details, social and economic status, habits, behavioural patterns, character, and physical health to lead a happy married life. The institution examines all these details and if found appropriate the candidate is selected for marriage. After making the match, due consent for marriage is taking from both the girl and the boy. To secure the future of the girl, due care is taken by giving her necessary clothes and jewellery and all the basic amenities to start a family life. Certain amount is given to her in the form of fixed deposit, she is even given insurance coverage and it is ensured that her marriage is officially registered.
Normally the parents in society can shy away from their responsibilities after marrying off their daughter. But in this case, the ashram authorities have a life time commitment towards the girl of the institution. They ensure happy married life for all the girls of the institution.
The marriage ceremonies are performed in the institution and the girls step in their new lives with lots of blessings from all those who are associated with the institution in one or the other way. Girls brought up, educated and married off by the institution are efficiently and warmly performing their roles as home makers.
